Congratulations to our two lucky winners! #358, Bobbiann; and #778, Tonya Dew!
I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:
A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.

I thought long and hard about my word of the year and it came as a result of the year I had in 2011. I made you a little video message as to why I picked this word!
for·ti·tude ~ Mental and emotional strength in facing difficulty, adversity, danger, or temptation courageously.

Patience is my word this year, with 3 young kids (and a husband who tends to act like a 4th).
Well, I love yours, I just wrote fortitude with definition on the kitchen black board. My smart-aleck husband thought said he thought it was a love of forts. If I had to pick my own word, I think it would be: REGENERATION, 1. To reform spiritually or morally. 2. To form, construct, or create anew, especially in an improved state. 3. To give new life or energy to; revitalize.
Cherish is my word of the year for 2012. 1. To treat with tenderness and affection; to nurture with care; to protect and aid. 2. To hold dear; to embrace with interest; to indulge; to encourage; to foster; to promote; as, to cherish religious principle. 3. (obsolete) To cheer, gladden. The 30th. of Jan. is my and my husband’s 25th. Wedding anniversary. We have a son and a daughter and a son-in-law. We also have 2 Chinese Cresteds. I plan on letting each and every one of these know how much I Cherish them, this year and all the years to come.
