Congratulations to our two lucky winners! #358, Bobbiann; and #778, Tonya Dew!
I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:
A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.
I thought long and hard about my word of the year and it came as a result of the year I had in 2011. I made you a little video message as to why I picked this word!
for·ti·tude ~ Mental and emotional strength in facing difficulty, adversity, danger, or temptation courageously.

My word for the year 2012 is FAMILY. I’m finally living close enough to spend time with our children and especially our grandchildren. There are all things great in this world but it all means nothing if you don’t have family (0r friends) to share life with.
My word of the year is: balance. I think sometimes we get pulled in so many directions that we spread ourselves too thin. I find myself stressed trying to be the “best” mom, wife, daughter, PTA member, volunteer, etc. This year I am going to strive to find balance by learning to take on only what I can handle (I.e. Learn to say “no”), and focusing more on my family.

Joy! I’m determined to Schedule time for things that bring me joy 😀
My word for the year is “Strong”. To be strong in the acceptance of life’s changes and the pull of negativity.
