Congratulations to our two lucky winners! #358, Bobbiann; and #778, Tonya Dew!
I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:
A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.
I thought long and hard about my word of the year and it came as a result of the year I had in 2011. I made you a little video message as to why I picked this word!
for·ti·tude ~ Mental and emotional strength in facing difficulty, adversity, danger, or temptation courageously.

i have chosen perseverence also. i have been dealing with severe health issues for the past few years, and this is the year that i am going to face them head-on and accept what i can’t change and make the best of it!
I’m following Trip Junkie on FB … and happily so.
My word of the year is “FREEDOM. 2011 was a difficult year in so many ways and I’m looking forward to creating a “new normal” that includes freedom of thought, freedom of spirit, freedom to travel, freedom from health issues, and so much more! I’d sure love to own one of these gorgeous necklaces with my word on it ;). Thanks for encouraging me to think about a word for 2012.
My word for 2012 would be opulence. I would love to see opulence for all of America!
