Congratulations to our two lucky winners! #358, Bobbiann; and #778, Tonya Dew!
I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:
A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.
I thought long and hard about my word of the year and it came as a result of the year I had in 2011. I made you a little video message as to why I picked this word!
for·ti·tude ~ Mental and emotional strength in facing difficulty, adversity, danger, or temptation courageously.

My word of the year for 2012 is…..
BLESSED
My word for 2012 is Giving — I want to remind myself the importance of giving to others.
My word this year is confidence!
My word of the year is Simplify. The last two years have involved a cross country move, three home renovations, a long distance marriage, keeping two households, planning the wedding of the century for our daughter, having college expenses for at least two children at all times, having our daughter move in with us while her husband is in Afghanistan (with a large dog, a cat, a bunny, and a new baby) and keeping four storage lockers in two different states. It’s time to simplify.
Embrace is a great word of the year, I like that! My word for 2012 is purpose and here’s my post about it if you care to read it. 🙂 http://embracingbeauty.com/2012/01/02/my-theme-word-for-2012/
Thanks for the chance to win!
