Congratulations to our two lucky winners! #358, Bobbiann; and #778, Tonya Dew!
I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:
A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.
I thought long and hard about my word of the year and it came as a result of the year I had in 2011. I made you a little video message as to why I picked this word!
for·ti·tude ~ Mental and emotional strength in facing difficulty, adversity, danger, or temptation courageously.

My word for 2012 is RECLAIM. I need to reclaim many things this year…time, routines, schedules, organization, etc….last year my word was BALANCE and I did ok for a few months…. But then it all fell apart…. So I am into reclaiming what I used to have all together so life can once again be happy and fun!!! I am also taking Ali Edwards’ online class (one little word) to help get through the year!!!!! I follow Lisa Leonard and Tip Junkie!!!
My word for the year is Focus. I have a lot of things in the past that I have lost touch with. I am going to FOCUS on the things that I want to accomplish and the things that are important in my life. Focus is my way of reminding myself to see the goal I want to attain in every aspect of my life.
My word for 2012 is “simplify”. I love this idea. It was new to me, but with this word hanging around my neck and a few post-in notes for good measure, I just might get it done. One day at a time. Thanks for the idea.
