Congratulations to our lucky winners! #139, Swenbourne; #245, The Lovely One; and #168, Tiffany M.!
I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:
A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.
I thought long and hard about my word of the year and it came as a result of what I’ve been thinking about a ton this year, which is about being true to myself, and taking care of my aging skin {snicker}.
Be·YOU·tiful ~ Having beauty; having qualities that give great pleasure or satisfaction to see, hear, think about, etc.; delighting the senses or mind.
I just love the word, and the word play within the word, don’t you? I want to be sure that in 2013 I take care of ME as well as others, ‘cuz that’s important, too.
Word of the Year
Id LOVE to challenge you to pick a word that sums up what you want for yourself in 2013. To encourage everyone to pick their word {cuz’ I think it’s a great thing to do}, I’m giving away THREE custom necklaces from Lisa Leonard Designs, a $56-$66 value. You can choose your necklace in either GOLD or SILVER.

My word this year is “CHOOSE” .
I am always telling my kids that they *always* have a choice” in how you handle situations. You can choose to be kind, you can choose to see the good or you can choose to wallow in sadness, or you can choose to help your friend, or you can choose to say something nasty back…etc. But that we are responsible for the results of our choices- good or bad.
But this year- I need this reminder for myself. I need to live this too!
Reciprocity!
As in you always get back that which you give… Love, kindness, blessings, positivity… Etc – like the Beatles song – The love you take is equal to the love you make
Every year millions of people will make resolutions for NYE, and every year millions people stop thinking about these resolutions when they get busy, and life becomes stressful. A special reminder that hangs around your neck will ensure that you hold true to what you hold near and dear to you!
