Christmas Card Day
What is Christmas Card Day? Well, Christmas Card Day honors Henry Cole, who composed and sent the first Christmas card in 1843! It is celebrated on December 9th of each year.
More about Henry Cole: Henry Cole was a civil servant who wanted to find a way for more ordinary people to use the Public Record Office (now called the Post Office). As we mentioned above, he sent the first Christmas greeting card, a way to wish others a Merry Christmas, and the tradition is still going strong!
