17 Homemade First Day of School Supplies

First day of school supplies that you can make at home!  Some of the tutorials include backpacks, zipper pulls, pencil pouches, bookmarks, locker accessories and a nap mat.

First Day of School

1.  Hound Dog Backpack ~ A patch on his eye, floppy ears and houndstooth fabric.  Seriously.  Adorable!  Can you envision how cute this hound dog would look on your child?!  It’s a definite must for your back to school list.

2.  T-shirt Backpack ~ Learn how to turn an old or new t-shirt into an adorable backpack.  Half of the neckline was cut off and ribbon was added to make straps and cinch closure.  It’s perfect for preschoolers or kindergarteners that don’t carry a lot of books.  It would also be fun to use for sleepovers or play dates.

3.  Bustle Backpack Tutorial {Pictured Instructions} ~ This adorable backpack  will be loved by girls of all ages.  A backpack for school, a diaper bag for a new Mom, or a summer purse, this tutorial will show you how to make one of your own.

4.  Rosette Zipper Pull – We have seen rosettes on hair clips, shirts and headbands.  Now, you can carry a keychain with these lovelies.  A great opportunity to use some of your scrap fabric and ribbon.  I bet your girls would love to add one of these as a zipper pull to their backpack. {wink}
