Encouraging and supporting ones children to play sports is harder than I thought before I became a parent.  Therefore, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell you how to send the Olympic Athletes a message as they go for the gold!
I didn’t realize that not every child wants to play every sport or any sport or that matter or that being encouraging and supportive as a parent takes effort! Â {wake up call}
Finding the right sport, the right team, the right time and the right age are all factors that can determine whether or not a child wants to play a sport and mom and dads attitude plays a role as well! Â {who knew?}
So, if there is one thing I’ve learned after having 3 boys, it’s that being an encouraging parent when my boys play sports is important. Â For all of us.
Going for the Gold
We “Go for the Gold” here in Ohio. Â Whenever we play a sport or just monkey around together, we do our best. Â We smile and we stay positive and we show good sportsmanship, and that’s “going for the gold“. Â We can’t all train for the Olympics, but we can “train” for the Olympic spirit!
Part of that “Olympic Sprit” involves being a good fan, and one of the things I’ve loved seeing is my boys cheering on each other, their team mates, and themselves when they’ve done well.
I love being able to see my boys practice their sports and play their games! Â Now we have the opportunity to encourage Olympic athletes as well. Â {squeal}
How To Send Olympic Athletes a Message!
Duracell has launched a Virtual Stadium app tab on their Facebook page to help power the athletes by sending them an inspiring message as they go for the gold.
Your words of encouragement will become part of DuracellÂ’s Virtual Stadium, which will be displayed on 25+ foot high-tech screens in London this summer at the P&G Family Home (the only place where athletes and families can come together since family is not allowed in Olympic Village).
When you submit a motivational message or video, youÂ’ll be entered for a chance to win a trip to the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games or a $500 Visa gift card from Duracell.
About the Virtual Stadium:
Just as athletes rely on the power of their devices when training, they also rely on the power of fan support. In London, the online Virtual Stadium that has been aggregating consumers’ video, text and photo messages of support, will come to life in the P&G Family Home. Using Kinect sensor technology, athletes will be able to step in front of the 28-foot wide display and through a series of gestures, control the Virtual Stadium with only their hands. One of the first companies to use this cutting-edge technology, Duracell is providing a unique experience for athletes to see fan support from back home.
About Duracell:
Part of the Procter & Gamble Company, Duracell has been powering people around the world for more than 40 years. Â As the worldÂ’s leading manufacturer of high-performance alkaline batteries, Duracell also innovates in lighting, renewable power and wireless charging technologies to help consumers live life without limits.
How do you encourage your children to “go for the gold?
