Flower Crowns are SUPER on TREND right now. They make really cute photo props, flower girl and hair accessories, and are just all-around fun. The best part about them is that they can be made for any season, outfit or occasion. They can be simple or very colorful and eye-catching.
With just a few items from your local craft or online store, you can make a single flower crown or several in a matter of minutes. They make fabulous holiday gifts too! {{wink}}

Choose Your Flowers
The first thing you’ll want to do is choose your flowers. This is the fun part because your flowers are what will make your statement. These dogwood blooms are a favorite of mine because they work year-round and can go with just about anything. Seasonal flowers are always fun, too. Don’t be afraid to experiment and go bold!
Gather Your Materials
You are only going to need a few items, but they are all necessary! You’ll need:
- Silk Flowers
- Green stem wire
- Green floral tape
- Scissors
- Wire cutters
Make the Crown
The first thing you’ll do to make the crown is to get two pieces of stem wire and twist together two ends to make one long piece. Then, you’ll need to measure the circumference of the head that’ll be wearing the crown with the wire.
This doesn’t have to be an exact science. You can just sort of fit the wire to the head. Twist those ends together to make the crown. Next, cover the ends with floral tape so you don’t have exposed pokey wire ends on your crown. That, my friends, would be very uncomfortable! {{snicker}}
Cut sections of bloom with wire cutters. I chose to cut about 4-5″ sections because that made the most sense with my flower choice. Depending on the type of flower you use, this will be different. {smile}
Lastly, start attaching the flowers to the crown by twisting around the wire and attaching with floral tape. Add new sections of flowers until you are satisfied with your results! You can stagger your flowers, bunch them up, mix and match, etc. That’s the beauty of this project, it’s all up to you!
