Did you know that just about every day of the year has been designated as a “holiday”? Celebrating the wacky and fun day can bring tons of enjoyment. That’s why we are planning on making every day a holiday. Here are 5 Fun Ways to Celebrate National Cherries Jubilee Day!
What is National Cherries Jubilee Day? Well, National Cherries Jubilee Day is a day set aside for lovers of the decadent dessert called cherries jubilee. Cherries jubilee is a sauce made up of cherries and a warmed liquor like kirsch or fruit brandy that is flambed and then served over vanilla ice cream. Thanks to thechef named Auguste Escoffie, we have this delicious dessert that was super popular in the 1950’s and 1960’s and has made a come back in recent years. Here’s a fun fact! Cherries Jubilee was created for the 1897 Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Queen Victoria. The holiday pays homage to the dessert that many cherry lovers just can’t resist. National Cherries Jubilee Day falls on September 24th of every year. It’s one of our new favorite September Holidays!
