I’m a having a cute esty shop goodie giveaway on my blog:
http://www.gourmetmomonthego.blogspot.com. It ends Monday but we’re doing another amazing one next week!:)
Answers for Questions:
1) Constance–I agree, a homemade recipe book with some of your favorite recipes would be really thoughtful. Some baking mixes in quart jars are easy and always appreciated (see http://www.giftinajarrecipes.com/ for some good ones to use). You could include and invite to come over for a cooking party (everyone brings things to make their favorite recipe and teaches each other how to do it), a kitchen timer for the fridge, a little basket with recipe cards, shopping list pads, cute magnets, etc. Good luck!:)
2) Camille–we’ve filled the back of a truck w/ styrofoam peanuts and made a “swimming pool”. The kids got to get in and wade around to look fora candy.
–Or, you could turn your car into a Fishing Pond. Have the kids sit in wagon or big box (the boat) and help them put a fishing pole through one of the car windows. Someone in the car puts a candy or toy on the clip.
–You could decorate the trunk of your car like an open giant mouth (white paper or fabric teeth and giant red lips). fill the trunk with funny things they have to feel to get to the candy.
–If the kids aren’t too little, decorate the trunk like a coffin and have someone laying in it holding a bowl of candy.
Have fun!

I was going to suggest some of the ideas already mentioned.
Or how about a few small kitchen gadgets, new spatulas, wooden spoons, measuring spoons etc.
What a fun gift!

I received a fun apron last year and a bottle (With a cute decorated lid) filled with apple pie filling! It was so clever and a big hit!

She could give the ladies something to cook in their aprons. The “cookies in a jar” things are cute. The jars contain the layered dried ingredients, attach recipe card with ribbon, all they have to do is dump it in a bowl and add the liquids. Best wishes!

It’s always great to give a recipe book or a few of your favorite recipes, and that’d be great with the apron. Or one of your favorite kitchen tools. And you could always give them something wonderful you’ve made up in the kitchen!
