I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:
“A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.”
What’s My Word of the Year? You’ll have to watch my video to find out.{{giggle}}
Word of the Year
IÂ’d like to challenge you to pick a word that sums up what you want for yourself in 2011? To encourage {or bribe} everyone to pick their word, I’m giving away a custom necklace from Lisa Leonard Designs, a $52 value.
If you are on twitter, you can even earn an extra entry for sharing this tweet with your followers. (This is completely optional.) Example Tweet: Tweet
How To Win!
Simply leave your Word of the Year in the comments.
Feel free to leave your post link or video, if you’ve created one.  Contest ends Jan. 11th.
My word is LOVE.
I simply want to love God, myself, and others more.
I would choose Acceptance. I need to learn to accept myself and others for who they are without trying to change them.
Resolved. This necklace would be sooo cute to wear all year to remind you of your word! Love this idea!!
Contentment.
I need to remind myself to be at peace with myself first, and to give up the feeling that I’m not doing enough. I have a very blessed life!
The word that came to mind as I was watching your video was “FOCUS”. There will be times that I will need to FOCUS up close while letting everything else be a nice blur, and other times when I will need to FOCUS farther away from what is right in my face, letting the closer stuff blur out a bit. I’m hoping this will help me get through 2011 in one piece! =)
