I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:
“A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.”
What’s My Word of the Year? You’ll have to watch my video to find out.{{giggle}}
Word of the Year
IÂ’d like to challenge you to pick a word that sums up what you want for yourself in 2011? To encourage {or bribe} everyone to pick their word, I’m giving away a custom necklace from Lisa Leonard Designs, a $52 value.
If you are on twitter, you can even earn an extra entry for sharing this tweet with your followers. (This is completely optional.) Example Tweet: Tweet

Help-picked because I have so many ill friends and family that need help this year.
My word of the year is SERVICE.
Through out my life so many people have opened their hearts and given of themselves, their time, their money to help my family and me. Now that we are becoming more stable thanks to everything that has been done for us, I want to pay it forward and serve others. It doesn’t have to be anything big, just helping out someone in a way that they most need it. SERVICE. 🙂
Gratitude—encompasses so much… faith, love, hope and just being thankful for life….
Cheer.
My family’s theme this year is “Do Not Fear” taken from D&C 68:6 (see my blog for an explanation) This first part of the verse says “Be of good cheer.”
My word is cheer.
My word for the year is Embrace!
