I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:
“A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.”
What’s My Word of the Year? You’ll have to watch my video to find out.{{giggle}}

I have been giving this some thought for a few days now. (my word last year was focus).
Balance is my word for 2011. After a very difficult 2010 I welcome some Balance in my life.

Hope. Not the kind of hope that is just a longshot (like the hope of winning the lottery) but the hope that has real expectation behind it!
My word this year is Mindful – I realized so much of what I do has become automatic and I want to be really present in all that I do. I used to relish that I could and can multi-task but now I want to slow down and appreciate more.
My word is focus…… I want to be a more focused everything. Wife, mother, daughter, friend, crafter, literally everything 🙂
