I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:
“A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.”
What’s My Word of the Year? You’ll have to watch my video to find out.{{giggle}}

IÂ’d like to challenge you to pick a word that sums up what you want for yourself in 2011? To encourage {or bribe} everyone to pick their word, I’m giving away a custom necklace from Lisa Leonard Designs, a $52 value.

Journey… I want to focus more on my Life being a journey and not a race. To enjoy EVERY minute.
My word for 2011, I think, is “peace.” I want to strive to yell at my kids less and keep our home more organized so that I feel less stressed. I want to enjoy the down times with my kids and husband. (I have four kids.) I want God’s peace to ooze out of me so that it blesses others.
what a great idea! I think that my word will have to be patience… I need to remind myself of that with my son, my husbands and the rest of the world. I hope to win this, it would be just great 🙂
Thanks Laurie!!!
Laurie, you are simply lovely! Dream is a wonderful word to set your thoughts on. I enjoyed reading about everyone’s word of the year. They’re all so good. This year my word is Rejoice {and be glad}. 🙂
My word of the year is “worth”. It can be sometimes difficult to remember that every single thing in our life that we encounter has worth; that every action we take and every word we speak throughout the day has a meaning, whether it is to us or someone else around us. It’s important to value and cherish the worth of yourself, your family, and the things you hold dearly to your heart; for without those things life would be meaningless.
