USE TO TAME FLYAWAY HAIRS
Flyaway hairs are the bane of many a girl’s existence, especially during the winter. There’s an easy fix, though. Spray hairspray on a clean toothbrush and then lightly brush over flyaway hairs. This will smooth the flyaway pieces back in.
DECLUMP MASCARA
We actually know quite a few women who keep a toothbrush in their makeup bag. They specifically use it for getting rid of clumps after they apply their mascara. This may be one of the oldest makeup hacks we’ve heard of!
USE TO TEXTURIZE YOUR BRAID
Messy, texturized braids are super on-trend right now! You can get that bohemian look that is so popular by using a toothbrush and comb upwards on the braid. This will give your braid that lived-in look and takes away the “perfection” of the braid, which is what’s in.
CLEAN DIRT FROM UNDER NAILS
If you don’t want to bother with a nail brush which can take up a lot more space than a toothbrush, use an old toothbrush to clean under your nails. Just run the toothbrush lightly under your nails to dislodge dirt. You can use it wet or dry depending on what’s under your nails!
TAME EYEBROWS
One of the easiest tricks around for taming your eyebrows is the same trick we suggested for taming flyaway hairs. Spray a toothbrush with hairspray (be sure that you spray on the toothbrush and not directly on your eyebrows) and then lightly brush over eyebrows. This will smooth your brows and keep them in place all day!
GET RID OF INGROWN HAIRS
This was a new one to us, and we really love it. If you get ingrown hairs, use the toothbrush to help exfoliate your skin and release the ingrown hairs. We’ve read that it works wonders when used in conjunction with tea tree oil. Tea tree oil has natural antiseptic, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties which make it an excellent product to use for ingrown hairs.
CLEAN HARD TO REACH PLACES
Old, clean toothbrushes make excellent tools for cleaning hard-to-reach places like behind your bathroom faucets, your toothbrush holder, your computer keyboard, and kitchen and bathroom grout lines. The handle of the toothbrush makes it easy to reach hard-to-reach places, while the bristles are just the right size to clean those little areas. Use a wet toothbrush with an appropriate cleanser to clean grout lines, your bathroom faucets, and the like. Use a dry toothbrush to clean your computer keyboard!
USE IT TO CLEAN YOUR JEWELRY
If your rings or other jewelry are starting to look dull and downright dirty, use your toothbrush to clean the grime and polish up your gems. You can use a dry toothbrush to clean up dirt and grime on jewelry or try adding a little toothpaste to a wet toothbrush and brush gently. The toothpaste and toothbrush will polish up your jewelry just like they do for your teeth. Be sure to rinse thoroughly!
KEEP THE CAN OPENER IN WORKING ORDER
Have you noticed all of the grime that can accumulate on can openers? Dip an old toothbrush in white vinegar and then scrub away the grime. Wipe clean and dry with a microfiber cloth!
CLEAN YOUR CHEESE GRATER AND GARLIC PRESS
Cheese graters and garlic presses are notoriously difficult to get really clean because of the little holes. Old toothbrushes are super handy for cleaning them, so keep a toothbrush in your kitchen specifically for those two kitchen gadgets. You’ll be glad you did!
