I hope you’re enjoying my TCCE reflection posts as much as I am. My goodness I learned so much and was completely inspired. Today I’m featuring “Taking Business to the Next Level” panel during the The Creative Connection Event.
I’ll also be showing you my quick interview with Lisa Leonard and giving you a chance to win 2 amazing necklaces. I just adore her jewelry. Lisa has most definitely taken her business to the next level and I’m so proud of her!
I’m still in denial at the uber talented and fabulous women I met. I can’t wait to make crowns with Shea who lives so close to me. I also met Melody who hosts the most amazing retreat, Brave Girls Camp. I can’t wait to get to know them better. {{squeal in delight}}
Taking Business to the Next Level
All of the panels were packed with successful women in business. Here are a few of my notes on the taking business to the next level panel.
- Heather Bailey says keeping her blog personable has really helped her gain influential business contacts.
- Network, and find mentors to help take the next step in your business.
- Leigh Standley agrees that you need to keep getting mentors as you grow and get larger.
- Tiffany Windsor says “don’t stop asking for help and advice from others”.
- Get a good lawyer especially in the beginning when you are licensing your product and have an exit strategy.
- When you start a business go into it like you ate going to succeed!
- Find out what the submission guidelines are to license your product and go as high as you can in the company and show your product.
- Make sure you have the ability to approve mass market products in your licensing contract.
- Branding is so important and needs to be thought of at the beginning.
- Leigh Standley “Success is when your work is doing its work”.
- Heather Bailey she asks herself “what would Madonna do” to keep reinventing her products but keep her brand perspective.
Unfortunately, my notes are just a quick blurb in what was discussed during the three hour panel. I hope you’ll consider joining us next year at the The Creative Connection Event.
Interview with Lisa Leonard
I just adore my darling friend Lisa Leonard. She’s a successful mom-preneur and an inspirational person. While we were at the Creative Connection I took a moment to interview Lisa Leonard so you can get to know her. She’s so genuine, talented, and absolutely someone you should know.
Giveaway: Comment to Win!
In August, I gave one of my darling friends this Sweet and Simple Birdie necklace from Lisa Leonard for her birthday and I got the most excited voice message I’ve ever received from her thanking me. She absolutely loved it! That was such a fun day for me and I want someone else to have that experience. {{squeal in delight}} Therefore, I am giving away two $50 gift cards from Lisa Leonard Designs.
