We are going to live it up by grabbing our scissors and cutting out some cool designs in paper to make snowflakes! We are celebrating MAKE A CUT OUT SNOWFLAKE DAY, and we want you to join us! What is Make a Cut Out Snowflake Day? Well, Make a Cut Out Snowflake Day is THE day to grab those scissors and paper and make cut out snowflakes. Make a snowflake day is big in elementary school because it’s a great opportunity to talk to the kids about Wilson Alwyn Bentley and his study of snowflakes in the 1880’s. He was the person that discovered that no two snowflakes are identical.
Make a Cut Out Snowflake Day is celebrated on December 27th of each year.

How to Make a Paper Snowflake
1. How to Make a Paper Snow Flake ~ Here’s a fabulous basic tutorial in case you’ve forgotten how to correctly fold and cut your paper to make a cut out snowflake!
2. Medallion Snowflakes ~ Make beautiful medallion snowflakes from (2 from 1 sheet of paper) that make beautiful decorations that can be hung to look like a winter wonderland!
3. Snowflake Table Runner ~ Don’t think for a second that the only place to display your cut out snowflakes in on a window or the walls. This clever way for displaying snowflakes is one of my favorites. Seriously, how cute is this?
4. Snowflake Hallway ~ Your hallway needs some snowflake love, too! Hang your beautiful cutouts at different heights to achieve the look of suspended snowflakes. Such a clever idea.

5. Fiskars Scissors ~ (affiliate link used) The nice thing about cut out snowflakes is that you don’t need anything to make them except scissors and paper. You do need good, sharp scissors though, or your design with rip.
