Hi everyone!
I’m Mique (as in Mickey Mouse ๐ from 30days.
I was thrilled that Laurie asked me to fill in for the day.
She was one of my first “blog friends” but I had the chance to
meet her this past spring and she’s even more fun and fiery in person!
When Laurie asked me to guest post I decided it try to compile a fun organizational post. One that will actually inspire you instead of make you want to curl into the fetal position.
It’s that time of year again. Time to step on a scale, make resolutions and try to organize our lives. If you are anything like me, organizing doesn’t come naturally. I’ve thought for awhile that most creative people don’t come pre-wired for organization (though there are people like Laurie to prove my theory wrong ;).
I recently found a book called Hannah’s Art of Home by Hannah Keeley. It has opened my eyes completely. Hannah talks about how each of us need to embrace our style and personality to figure out what would work best in our homes. It’s funny and down to earth- and has once again inspired me to take on my closets and tackle my cabinets. You can read an interview by her here to get an idea of how she approaches her book.

To kick start your 2009 I’m giving away a copy of my new fave find, Hannah’s Art of Home .
Also Laurie and I recently combined efforts for some updated versions to her binder. So along with the book, you’ll get an updated Executive Homemaker binder. We’ll have details of how everyone can download their own version here on Tip Junkie soon.
To win, tell us what your biggest organizational challenge is on this post
by next Tuesday, January 13th.
My biggest organizational challenge in 2009 is our homeschool room. Because we have three children under 8, and homeschool two of them, we have so much time every day to make messes. All of our books and crafts and music and … you get the idea… all are in our small schoolroom.
Next up would be my in the master closet desk that I’m working to create…
Wonderful posting and great ideas and links. Thank you!
My biggest organizational challenge? How about getting in the front door??
You have no idea how much I need this book (although you can see pictures on my blog). I’m embarrassed to admit just how disorganized I am. I just don’t understand how kids come home from school – and a mere 15 hours later, we’ve lost homework, shoes and mittens. My home isn’t all that big…so where does everything go? Seriously!
I’ve come out of denial. I’m in serious need of a major organizational over haul. Yep. I admit it. I would even start a group, “Disorganized Madness”…but I usually can’t find the phone, can hardly get out the door, and I would inevitably lose meeting times/places and members names…somewhere in my house. ๐
What a fantastic giveaway – thank you, thank you, thank you!

My toughest organizational challenge would have to be my craft room. We just moved to a new house and instead of having my own space, I now share the garage with my husband. I have boxes and boxes of craft supplies waiting for me to do something.
My biggest organizational challenge is my 3 boys’ rooms. They get overcome with clutter so easily and I’m trying to find ways to keep them tidy while teaching them how to do it for themselves.
oooh, love ideas for organizing! thanks for the chance to win! =)
