Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
You can use any color or size glass bottles.
First off you need to prepare your bottles by soaking off the labels in some hot water and washng up liquid. Leave them in the soapy solution for about 5 mins and the labels should just slide right off . I used our empty Radler beer bottles.
Step 2
Measure your flower stem against your bottle and snip off excess stalk as required so that your flower now sits happily in the bottle
Step 3
Set your flower stem to one side and snip off a 80cm length of yarn and tie in a knot at the very top of the bottle neck leaving a 20cm tail and then wrap around the neck of the bottle until you have a matching 20cm length of yarn left
Step 4
Tie your two tails together in a tight knot at the base of the wrap and then knot both ends together at the ends to form a loop. This will create the loop hanger to hang your bottles up with.
Step 5
Repeat the wrapping process with a different colour yarn to add a pop of colour – I used this fab neon 2 ply. This time you only need to leave a small tail to knot off at the end as this wrap is purely decorative. Once knotted tightly in line with your loop, snip off the excess lengths of yarn.
Step 6
Repeat for as many bottles as you would like. You could mix up the colours here and try different length loop hangers to add some diversity. Once your bottles are ready, simply pop in your flower stems and you’re ready to hang them up.
Step 7
Hang your beautiful new upcycled glass bottle hanging garden decorations using screws, nails or tacks.
