This easy-to-make homemade laundry product is just what you need to fight stubborn odors, or simply add extra fragrance to your everyday wash. It also softens laundry in the same way fabric softener does. Aside from being easy to make, it is easy to use – just pour into running water at the beginning of your wash.

You Will Need...
- Epsom salts
- Essential oil or body safe fragrance oils
- Airtight container with lid
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Start by pouring your Epsom salts into a glass or plastic airtight container. I find it is best to keep track of how many cups I am using at a time, that way I know the ratio of Epsom salts to essential oil for future projects.
Step 2
Add your essential oil or body safe fragrance oil drop by drop. For a cup and a half of Epsom salts I added 6 drops of essential oil.
Step 3
Close your container and shake well to distribute the oils. I typically shake my container for about two minutes.
Step 4
That’s it, you’re done. To use, simply pour anywhere from 1/8 – 1/4 cup into your washer at the beginning of each load.
