Step by Step Instructions

  • Step 1

If you have already decided that you want to create for your guests an unforgettable atmosphere by opening your home to them, you should start carefully building a strategy and conception of the party. Backyard weddings are a good way to save some money, but don’t forget that you have to consider many things before you fulfill this idea. The first step is to prepare a guest list. This is the most important part of all preparations because it will give you the basic idea for the size of the ceremony. Is your yard big enough to assure the needed space for everyone? Do you have to search for other options if your garden is not big enough? Then you have to decide what type of reception you would like to have – a buffet or a plated dinner? Make sure your neighbours are warned for the big day or even invite them, if you want to avoid any worries about the noise and grumpy faces.

  • Step 2

If you are enthusiastic enough and want to prepare the food for the wedding by yourself, it is necessary to spend a lot of time and attention for every little detail. That’s why I suggest you to hire a caterer who can work from your own home. This will ensure peace of your mind and confidence that you control the situation. Another suggestion is to hire a catering food from your favorite restaurant – so you will be sure that there will be no surprises with the taste.

  • Step 3

You have the ideal place, amazing decoration, tasty food, close friends and family, a romantic atmosphere with all the music and positive vibes around you. Everything seems to be just perfect and… BANG! It’s raining! That’s why you have to think in advance if weather surprises you. You can plan (just in case) to host the wedding indoors or rent a tent if you don’t want to ignore all efforts and organisation.

  • Step 4

This is your time, your special day when you are the star on the red carpet.Decorate and prepare every little detail that will help your guests find out more about your love and special moments like couple. Put wedding photos of your parents and grandparents to show the power of love during the years, decorate the tent, the trees, and the tables with little elements from your wedding dress or from your wedding bouquet for example. But the most important step before and after the wedding is the clearance and the maintenance of the garden. Nobody wants to step on withered and yellowed grass or to see dry flowers at the wedding photos. So make sure you hire experts in qualified gardening. Meet them at least one month before the ceremony to discuss what kind of services you need in your backyard. It is recommended to seek their help again after the party, because of the many guests, dances, and foot traffic. Once you’ve got the garden, the food, and the guests, all you need is a good mood and a love in your heart.
