Use this tradition in your own family and/or give it to a friend or family member. It makes a wonderful Christmas gift for a friend, neighbor, co-worker, or hostess.
THE IDEA:
The Red Plate is the perfect way to acknowledge a family member’s special triumphs, to celebrate a birthday, praise a job well done, reward a goal achieved, or simply to say, “YOU ARE SPECIAL TODAY.” When the Red Plate is used, any meal becomes a celebration honoring a special person, event, or deed.
The Red Plate — make it a tradition in your family, symbolizing the good and happy times. It will speak volumes of love when words just aren’t enough.
THE IDEA IN ACTION:
The “Red Plate” is one of the best ways to bring joy, affirmation, and encouragement to different members of family and friends. For example, when you have a guest for dinner, he or she gets the “Red Plate.” Whenever there is a special occasion–from birthdays, the first night home after being at camp, finishing a hard project, or getting a good grade on a test, that person gets the “Red Plate.”
You can also use the red plate for the hard times, those times when someone has worked and worked to get a part in a play or make a team or win an election, and they have been disappointed. Make sure they get the “Red Plate” that day as a
symbol that they are still special, no matter what has happened.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
Please do not put food directly on this plate. This is a charger and made to go under the food plate. Since the vinyl lettering will come off, do not wash or microwave this plate. Use a damp cloth to wipe if it gets soiled.

Nancy says
I just made this last night. I thought it would be a good incentive for my sister’s kids (who are such terrors). I can see them fighting over it, but at the same time I can also see them bragging over their accomplishments. Hopefully, it will be enough of an incentive for them to be good (at least for one day).
