What is your Christmas Toy Buying Philosophy?
Yesterday I asked you what your toy buying philosophy was and there were some really great ones! I’m sure you do not have the time (or interest) to read through 477 posts. So here are just a taste of what people said:
- Tracy:Â “Our gift-giving tradition is to give each child 3 gifts, just as Baby Jesus was given 3 gifts.”
- Jill: “I came up with secret code for the gifts. Each child get a symbol (a tree, snowman, snowflake, ect) assigned to them that only I know. So on each gift I only draw their symbol marking who the gift is for. They love trying to figure out what their symbol is for that year. It just adds a little more anticipation.”
- Laurie Brooks: We always give a “gift to Jesus” too the night before as we commit to a better year.
- Nicole:Â Due to the economy, “Our Â’simplified philosophyÂ’ for purchasing gifts this year is just thisÂ… everyone will get a want, a need and a treasure.”
- Kelley:Â “I try to think of something they want, something they need, something to wear and something to read.”
- Anne: “Honestly, Everything my kids are getting this year are giveaway wins.” {{Fabulous – you can find out where the giveaways are on the Tip Junkie Giveaway Directory}}
- Bratt: “Santa doesnÂ’t outshine mom and dad in our house. He brings things that are useful, mom & dad bring the fun things they want or wish for.”
- Diana:Â “We focus on a gift that can be shared with all 3 kids (ages 11, 8, 5) so that they learn to play together.”
This is just a few of the fabulous toy buying ideas. If you want to check them all out, you can read the comments in yesterday’s post Make Christmas Morning Fun for Everyone. {{mainly parents – so the kids aren’t disappointed or bored an hour later}}
