The 3 “E’s” of Halloween Party Decor
Halloween is always so much about the experience, so for this Halloween party, I wanted my guests to have an EXPERIENCE they could remember. I wanted it to be EASY, and I wanted them to be ENGAGED. That’s why using the Piñata Pumpkin Patch Cake as my focus of the party worked so well. I was able to expand the idea of a surprise around every corner from the idea that the ice cream cake is a surprise in itself.
The kids may not remember what color the table cloth was, but they are going to remember that the party was something exciting and fun and that will stick in their memories. They were treated to an experience rather than just a dessert. The best part is that you can provide an experience like this, too. It’s easier than you’d think.
Just remember that it’s all about the 3 “E’s”. Keep it EASY, It’s all about the EXPERIENCE, and Keep them ENGAGED.
Keep It Easy
I always use paper goods on my tablescapes. I do this for several reasons. First of all, it’s EASY. Paper goods are easy to set and even easier to clean up.
Secondly, it makes guests feel more comfortable. Guests are naturally more relaxed at fun tables so resist the urge to dress it up too fancy which will keep your guests feeling at ease. You want your guests to feel like you have put effort into your party, but that it is also accessible to them, that they can be themselves and not have to worry about formal settings that may take them out of their comfort zone.
Thirdly, paper goods are super fantastic for mixing and layering. It’s the best way I know to mix geometric patterns, trendy colors and fun elements, which is totally my thing. Combining elements with 2-3 colors will make your tablescape POP!
Experience the Surprise!
Create moments that matter with an experience you want your guests to remember. Provide elements that seamlessly work together to solidify your theme making a memory they won’t forget. Halloween is known for surprises and Trick or Treating, so we wanted to make our party about edible surprises and finding treats and surprises throughout the party. We had the ice cream cake with a slice cut out of it so you could see the candy inside, witches brooms with a surprise tucked inside, edible name tags, and candy corn piñatas.

Engage Your Guests
Every party needs games, good food and decorations. Check, check and check. Be sure that you have at least one game planned, good food to eat (think Baskin-Robbins Piñata Pumpkin Patch Cake), and that your decorations are visually pleasing. If your guests walk in and like what they see, your first party hurdle is complete.
Here’s what you need to assemble a Halloween Trick or Treat Tablescape that will surprise your guests in the best way possible. It may have been our favorite Halloween party to date!
