Every Wednesday I have been featuring 3 products made by women taken from the TJ Mom-preneur Shops & EH Mom Shops for the TJ Mom-prenuer Shop-a-thon. I’ve promoted mom shops every year since I started Tip Junkie – as this mission is very close to my heart. {{teary}}
It seems like everywhere I turn someone is out of a job, having medical issues, or struggling to make ends meet. I know that I am just one person but I just can’t say it loud enough, BUY FROM WOMEN!
Instead of purchasing your gifts and fun things at a boutique or local store, why not plan a little bit ahead and purchase these items from women in the Mom-prenuer Shops!?! You’ll get some crazy cool gifts and every penny you spend will go to another mother and her family. Seriously, how cool is that?
You can even barter and trade with each other and use your sweet skills to keep your dollars in your pocketbook. I do it all the time.
I am not alone in this important mission. I’ve formed a Mom-preneur alliance with Quinn from Created by Mom and Amy with Mom Made That to create a “Buy Mom Made Movement”. This is the perfect example of 3 direct competitors (as we each have Mom-prenuer listings) uniting together for a greater purpose – to promote mom shops.
Help me spread the word and be apart of the movement, it’s easy!
- Simply take the pledge on the site (takes 10 seconds)
- Add the button to your blog
- Shop early and purchase as many gifts this holiday season as you can from mommy bloggers and Mom-preneurs.
- Twitter Users: @tipjunkie Take the #BuyMomMade pledge and buy your products from mom’s this holiday season! http://www.buymommade.org/ pls RT
- Twitter Users: Join the #momshop Twitter group
- Facebook Users: We would be honored if you would join the BuyMomMade facebook page. {{hugs}}
No matter where you find your Mom-prenuers please buy at least 1 thing from a fellow mom this holiday season. Just imagine the impact we can have in the Mom Made Economy with such little effort.
How to promote your shop on BuyMomMade.org
- Link to your most popular product instead of your home page. You only get one chance to make a first impression.
- Instead of using your 125×125 button or picture, use a beautiful, clear, and bright picture of one of your favorite products. This way people can see what you sell at a glance.
Want to do more to help?
You can even go a little further and do a blog post about the Mom Made products you love. That would be amazing! I just know that if we ban together and support this common goal – we can really do some good and have our hard earned dollars go to those who can really use it.
What do you think, are you in! If so head on over to Buy Mom Made.org and take the pledge then over to the TJ Mom-prenuer Shops and start making your holiday shopping list!
I love this Laurie!! I’ll definitely be buying Mom Made this Christmas season!
Agreed! I’m thinking if we were to boycott all the corporations this Christmas and buy Mom Made we could become a force of our own. After all who does the buying in the household? We do!
This is the coolest intitiative ever. I’m going to complete all the steps and be a part of this. I’m just sad that my Etsy shop is not ready! I believe 100% in supporting the small business and in particular, women. Its time that women reach and support one another instead of trying to destroy each other! yay for you for promoting this incredible initiative!
I’m in! I think this is a fabulous initiative.
This is really a neat way to shop. Thanks for sharing.
