ASSORTED BOXES
These days most stores don’t give out boxes so you need to stock up on assorted boxes so that when the time comes you have boxes on hand to wrap your presents in. There is nothing more frustrating than getting all set to wrap and then not having a box to put the present in!
A big roll of butcher paper is a great investment this holiday season because you’ll be using it on all of your presents. You can even get a big roll on a cutter so that it’s easy to rip off the size you need.
OLD SCHOOL YARN
Remember that chunky yarn that you used to tie up presents with when you were in elementary school? That’s what you want to get to tie up your packages this year. It has come back in a big way and it lends a nostalgic air to packages that are irresistible.
CARDSTOCK
Save tons of money by making your own tags. Chances are you have cardstock hanging around the house. If you don’t, pick some up so that you can DIY your own cards. If you have a circle cutter, you can cut into a circle and make it look like an ornament, which we love.
WASHI TAPE
Washi tape is a favorite of ours. Add a little flair to your package or tag with your washi tape. The ski is pretty much the limit!
PUNCHES
If you have paper punches, use them. You can decorate the outside of your package with paper punch pieces or you can use a punched piece for your tag.
The great thing about the homemade wrap is that it’s mean to be one-of-a-kind. We’ve found that people actually really appreciate homemade wrap because they feel like it’s come from the heart. We hope these tips make your gift wrapping easier and more meaningful. Happy Holidays!
