June Organization
Summer is upon us! It’s time to get more organized and get going on summer organization projects around the home! If you have things that need to get organized like I do, then you’re in luck!
1. Inside the House ~ Summer Cleaning
There are quite a few things inside your home that need to be deep cleaned that we sometimes forget about. I’ve listed some of the most often missed items to clean.
- Heating, ventilating and air conditioning filters
- Clean kitchen appliances, refrigerator coils
- Flush garbage disposal with baking soda
- Clothes Dryer: clean lint in vent system
- Check attic fans and roof-mounted vents
- Check water softener salt drum, replenish salt
- AC: change filters
2. Outside the House ~ Home Maintenance
Don’t forget about the outside of the house. After long winters there are certain things that get neglected that you should not forget about. I’ve listed items that will need special attention this summer.
- Uncover central air conditioner
- Slide open crawl space vents at foundation
- Clean and repair cracks in concrete driveway
- Clean and seal deck
- Inspect, repair patio and deck furniture
- Prune trees and shrubs away from house
3. Improve the House ~ Home Repair
Summer is the perfect time for home improvements because the weather is usually cooperative! Some of these tasks take an amazing amount of organization, so it’s great to have a way to remember all of the tasks! I’ve listed several printable lists to keep your home repairs organized.
4. Sale Items:
This month is a great time to buy items that go on sale to get ready for summer like gardening tools and supplies and outdoor gear. Now this the time to get them at discounted prices if you wait until summer these items will be more expensive.
- Gardening tools and supplies – many gardening tools and supplies go on clearance after spring, so now is the time to get them at a discount.
- Outdoor gear – outdoor gear will go up in price once the weather warms up, so now is the time to stock up!
- Hardware – Tools are usually discounted in June for Father’s Day, so now is a good time to replace old and rusty tools or purchase tools you’ve had your eye on.
